Survivor surrenders after cross state manhunt
North Vernon Indiana reports Victor Wayne Whitley, 26, of Granger Texas, surrendering to three state troopers seven miles south of North Vernon after a two state crime spree that killed two troopers and involved multiple armed robberies in 13 states. A massive manhunt ended when Whitley dumped his gun and gave up, scenes of high tension described as in the aftermath of a deadly pursuit.
