Lakewood High Opens With $6 Million Ceremony
Lakewood High School celebrated its $6,000,000 dedication Tuesday night before more than 1,000 attendees. The 1,800-student campus includes eight buildings, 89 classrooms, and a 1,700-seat auditorium, funded by a 1954 bond issue and a 1950 land allocation. The school serves Lakewood and Long Beach, under the Long Beach Unified School District, with officials from both cities praising taxpayers and the community.
