Wind gust kills hang glider near San Pedro cliff
An Orange County man Louis Schendeldorfer 23 of Buena Park was killed when a sudden wind gust toppled his hang glider off a 100 foot seaside cliff at Pt Perini in San Pedro. He died en route to Harbor General Hospital after witnesses saw the craft strike the cliff and plunge to the rocky beach. Helicopters evacuated the victim from the shore to the hospital.
