Birth Control by Conscience May Get U S Catholic Hierarchy OK
The U S Catholic bishops moved toward treating birth control as a matter of individual conscience potentially aligning with other nations. The conference expects a final decision after closed debate with 220 bishops and cardinals, with discussions also touching on conscientious objection to war, including Vietnam.
