Hours apart Gerry brothers Robert and Peter die
Robert L. Gerry, about 81, dies at his Aknnsti estate on Lake Delaware near Delhi, New York, hours after his brother Peter G. Gerry, 78, dies in Providence Rhode Island. Both had long health battles, with Peter a former U.S. senator and Cornelia Gerry sister to Gov. Averell Harriman. The Gerry wealth sprang from New York real estate, tracing back to Elbridge Gerry.
