Indy Crews Prepare for Final Carburetion Tests at Speedway

Indianapolis crews conducted safety checks and routine racer inspections ahead of Wednesday carburetion tests at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. The three hour session will be the only track time before Friday’s Memorial Day 500 race. A. J. Foyt won the pole with 170.568 mph, noting engine trouble but asserting he could have matched Joe Leonard’s 1968 record. Rain earlier washed out the initial trial weekend.
