Moon Truck Studies Under NASA Budget Plan
NASA along with Boeing and Bendix will study two moon truck concepts for lunar exploration. A three ton mobile lab would shelter two astronauts for up to two weeks and travel several hundred miles on four wheels. A smaller truck would cut weight to allow a base shelter. Both rely on Saturn V launches from Cape Kennedy to haul gear 240,000 miles to the moon.
