More Humane Shoe Shape By GAY PAULEY
New York fashion reports a humane toe shape for women’s shoes with rounded daytime toes and specialized event toes like the double needle. Heels will be firmer for comfort, with a trend toward a soft rounded oval toe, stacked daytime heels, and a return to a fatter prewar heel for dressy events. Industry notes include unbreakable plastic stilettos and lifetime screw-on lifts, plus higher vamps and elongated daytime looks, while some makers keep a sliced-off point.
