Body found at Pt Fermin identified as Long Beach DSS worker
A body recovered Sunday at the base of a cliff near Pt Fermin Park was identified as Larry Lon Kiefer, a 40 year old Long Beach employee of the Los Angeles County Department of Social Services. Autopsy results released Monday afternoon at the county morgue were not reported. Kiefer's last known San Pedro address was 24th Street in 1972.

Compton councilman William Love died at a Sacramento conference after a heart attack during a League of California Cities meeting. Love 57 served since 1969 and won reelection in 1971. he was active in the NAACP, Model Cities, and local unions. Funeral services pending.
