The Galaxy Towers, a 20 story concrete and steel condominium complex at 2999 E. Queen Blvd in Long Beach, completed in 1986 at about 5 million dollars. Built as four connected structures with four apartments per floor, each unit includes three exterior window walls and a balcony. Developed by L. S. Whaley Co. the living center offered maid catering laundry and car service to owners. Prizes were awarded for identifying the landmark in Lifestyle May 9 with winners listed, including Gary Anderson and Denise M. Hollenkamp among many others.

Scholars earn plaudits cash at Ebell awards luncheon
Adrian Ebell Club of Long Beach held a spring luncheon to honor scholars and announce an annual scholarship winner. About 250 attended as the group raised over 2000 dollars for Long Beach City College students. Dorothy Schildwachter received a wine decanter for her service as chair.
