Judge rules Cross Your Heart bra design anticipates prior patents
Federal Judge William C. Conner invalidates International Playtex patent for Cross Your Heart as the court finds the design substantially anticipated by earlier French and German bras. The ruling clears Splendor Form and Forever Yours of infringement and invites copies in the multi million dollar industry. Demonstrations by models illustrated how prior garments carried similar features and effects.
