Drug Dealer Sentenced After Overturned Assault Verdict
Jerry Zankich a 23 year old Harbor area drug supplier with prior assault on a policeman resolved a earlier conviction. He will serve one to ten years for two counts of possession for sale and one driving under the influence of dangerous drugs. A judge set aside a gun verdict and sentenced him to a year in county jail concurrent with the drug term.

Westminister socialite shot. doctor commits suicide
A 58 year old Westminster socialite, Mrs. Marnette Reid Peek, recovers in satisfactory condition at a Palm Springs area hospital from stomach wounds after a shooting. Doctors said she could be released later in the week. The shooter, Dr. Lawrence Leroy Peterson, 57, a California State College Long Beach music professor, killed himself with the same gun minutes earlier.

Shell Ordered to Move Poles on Willow Street
Shell Oil Co must remove seven poles on the north side of Willow Street west of the Los Angeles River or explain to the Bureau of Franchises by June 9. The poles were approved temporarily Aug 12 for telemetering lines until a microwave system. Shell had promised Dec 31 removal and later May 15, with delays acknowledged by Louis Possner. A burglary at 6708 Parkcrest St. saw a radio, stereo tape player, and a gold ring worth 220 dollars stolen.
