Peace Near in Chrysler Labor Row Ends Roadblock
United Auto Workers and Chrysler Corp reached a top level truce ending a potential nationwide shutdown. A partial settlement covers Twinburg Ohio equipment moves and tooling rights, with remaining issues to be discussed today. Chrysler will drop a $5 million lawsuit against Local 212, which had refused to move stamping dies and equipment amid wildcat strikes that idled over 40,000 workers.

Kin eA Wbyenteald mother of 10 was kottended to six Months In jail Saturday for Writing worthless checks. Nadine Min kon of Crossington had been charged with writing bogus checks at least 50 times since 1934. This appearance in court was no exception, says Barton County Attorney Loyd Phillips. Minson is eight months pregnant and has cost the city over 1000 in legal action in prior warrants. The checks were for household expenses and her husband, BP Minson, an employee at a Holsington drilling company, was consulted for medical input before the case was brought. She will get more rest in jail.
