County to pay witness fees and boost court access
Los Angeles County supervisors approved a four point plan to aid criminal case witnesses. It calls for a state funded 10 dollar half day and 20 dollar full day witness fee, free parking, and a pilot to supply bus tokens using excess county bus subsidy funds. The plan aims to reduce delays as a county survey showed over half of prosecutorial witnesses failed to appear.
