Group sex and marriage in modern conversations and experiments
A study based on 50 in depth interviews and 200 discussions with Manhattan group sex participants explores motives for participation. Subjects range from middle class professionals to artists and teachers, with ages 30 to 50 and varied relationship status. Some seek excitement, others perceive marital infidelity or a need beyond spousal sex, while a few view group sex as part of personal growth within marriage. The researchers note cultural differences and potential links to birth control and sexuality permissiveness, with mixed views on pornography. A couple in their late twenties describe group sex as compatible with their marriage and personal development rather than a threat to it.
