Tire firm accused of false advertising in California case
Los Angeles prosecutors charge The Mark C Bloome Co with false advertising and unfair competition in tire sales and auto services. A 1969 court order barred false ads, but the suit alleges 30 percent off promises for Uniroyal Pirelli and Michelin tires were misused, with discounts limited to certain tires and the fourth tire. The suit seeks 2500 per act and an injunction, citing a tune up special and a tube and oil change offer tied to mandatory purchases.
