A lightweight electronic hand device detects objects from two to nine feet ahead, vibrating to signal distance and hazards like holes and curbs. Developed by Biophysical Electronics in Bala Cynwyd and Thomas Benham of Haverford College, the device aims to complement Seeing Eye dogs.
