Desalting of Water Advances Worldwide
United Nations chief U Thant reports a daily global desalting total of 200 million gallons with 35 plants planned to add 109 million more. He calls desalination an established technology and urges a UN symposium to share planning and operation experience as 25 plants were completed in 1967 68. The Soviet plant under construction could yield 55 million gallons daily.
