Oil price rollback not needed says U S panel
The Nixon administration learned from a 70 page Office of Emergency Preparedness study that there was no short term justification for rolling back crude oil price increases imposed last fall by oil firms. The panel warned long term increases might be justified for security reasons and urged policies to boost energy supply including offshore leases and exploration.

Indians Occupy Abandoned Army Center Remain in Lake County
Lake County deputies arrested nine adult Indians Monday at a campsite on a 640 acre former Army receiving center four miles east of Char Lake. They were booked for investigation or trespassing after being driven out in patrol cars. More than a half dozen accompanying children were released. Eight others including Richard Oakes were arrested Sunday for similar charges.

FDA chief warns cyclamate ban enforcement was weak
FDA head Dr. Charles Edwards told a House subcommittee enforcement of the July 1 1970 cyclamate ban was weak and industry delays helped sellers. Documents show Abbott Laboratories continued selling Sucaryl and other cyclamate products through August 1970 and a recall of about 350000 dollars worth of stock followed.
