Initiative to Limit Property Taxes Fails to Qualify
Secretary of State Marek Fong announced that the measure sponsored by Hay Saucedo of Santa Barbara failed to file enough signatures to qualify for the June 1973 ballot. The proposal would cap residential property tax at four percent of assessed value, among other relief ideas. A separate tax relief initiative is being circulated by Paul Gant of Carmichael.
