Indonesian Student-Driven Coup Ousts Sukarno in 1965
Indonesian army under Lt Gen Suharto seized control as students led protests against Sukarno. The president was removed to house arrest after firing Nasution and purging pro Communist ministers. Subandrio was jailed and the Communist Party banned.
