Rocks in His Head Blues: Alfred Nelson’s Gem Home Project
Alfred Nelson, a Compton Municipal Court clerk living at 3001 Golden Ave in Long Beach, fills his home with rocks after joining the Bellflower Gem and Mineral Society nearly 15 years ago. He tiled his bathroom with 75 stone varieties and later covered the kitchen sink area and decor like lamps and vases, turning his house into a grotto of polished stones from the Southland and beyond.
