Long Beach Planning Commission Recommends Excluding Garden Area
The Long Beach Planning Commission Thursday urged excluding from the proposed Hawaiian Gardens city an area of nearly one half square mile south of 226th Street. The move could delay Pioneer Boulevard widening and Wardlow Road extension plans, affect Wardlew Hol drainage work, and complicate residential subdivision south of Wardlew Hol. The area, 2.17 square miles with an estimated population of 8,700, would fall under Long Beach and LA County boundary considerations.
