Soviet note marks 6th anniversary of 1917 revolution
The Soviet Union recognized the six year anniversary of the 1917 overthrow of Czar Nicholas II, calling it a bourgeois democratic revolution. Pravda said the czar’s overthrow was a big step but not the final goal, with true celebrations slated for October and November to honor the Bolshevik rise. The piece cites Karl Marx and notes the Bolshevik view of the revolution as preliminary to a broader capitalist transition toward a proletarian dictatorship.
