Senate exempts occasional work from coverage

SACRAMENTO AP Occasional baby sitters and yard workers would no longer have workers compensation coverage under a measure approved by the Senate. The bill by Assemblyman Richard Robinson would limit coverage to domestic workers who work at least 82 hours or earn $100 from a single homeowner in a day period, sending others to court for injury claims. It would require homeowners CPL policies to include workers' compensation, with an estimated cost of $2 or less, and moves to a two house conference committee for final amendments before passage.
