The New York market rose in Thursday trading as retail sales for February showed a rebound from January. The Dow Jones average gained about 6 points while the NYSE composite rose to 110.40 and the Nasdaq OTC index edged higher as investors priced in stronger consumer demand and a stronger wholesale index.
