States Told to Submit Desegregation Plans for Colleges
HEW says Maryland and Mississippi college systems are nearly all white or nearly all black in places and must submit desegregation plans within 120 and 90 days respectively. The move follows Civil Rights Act violations cited by OCR with regional offices handling the orders.
