Working Mothers in Russia Lead Global Leisure Gaps
A 14 nation study shows working mothers have less weekday free time than fathers in both socialist and capitalist countries. In the United States working mothers average 2.8 hours on weekdays and 7.1 on Sundays, while Soviet working mothers have 2.4 hours on weekdays and 4.8 on Sundays. The project, directed by Alexander Szalai, used 180000 punched cards from over 25000 participants with data processed in Moscow Cologne Brussels and Paris.
