House OKs Gonzalez resignation as Assassinations Committee chair
The House voted 286 to 100 to accept Rep. Henry B. Gonzalez's resignation as chairman of the Select Committee on Assassinations, despite Bauman's call to debate Gonzalez's charges against chief counsel Richard Sprague. Gonzalez cited lack of support from House leaders as his reason to resign.
