Construction Worker Killed by 69-Ton Crane in Lakewood
Brooks McDonald aged about 53 of 267 E List Street Long Beach was crushed Tuesday when a 69 ton crane buckled and struck him at a county flood control project drainage channel near South Street and Palo Verde Avenue. Crane operator Frank E. Gorman 11242 Pine Street Lynwood stated McDonald had oiled the crane before the accident and appeared to have gone to lunch. McDonald died at the scene before arrival of an ambulance.
