Air Force accuses hit of sending useless Tacan gear
Congressional auditors fault the Air Force for delivering 12 million dollars of Tacan navigation equipment to allied nations that could not use it. GAO says installation kits were not shipped, recipients lacked aircraft or ground facilities, and most gear sits unused in warehouses eighteen months after delivery. Premature deliveries also delayed US Tacan program.
