Otepka Appointment Seen Ending State Department Fight
A post on the Subversive Activities Control Board could be offered to Otto F. Otepka, the State Department’s ousted chief security evaluator, to settle a five year dispute. The job pays 36000 dollars yearly and would require little work. Otepka was fired for allegedly sharing secret files with a Senate subcommittee, a decision upheld by the Civil Service Commission. He remains on leave without pay pending potential court action.
