The hearing at Long Beach will decide if his benefits were properly denied and whether the employer had cause. Priddy says excess weight should not disqualify him as he seeks work while relatives cover housing and he contends lifting is part of his job description and may have contributed to his layoff. The decision will affect five weeks of benefits and whether costs are charged to the company.
