Joseph P. Cvecko 49 of Lakewood and Lester I. Sacks 30 of Torrance faced charges including issuing a $100000 check without funds and conspiracy to defraud. The men, former Coast Bank executives, agreed to submit their CARES song before an indictment filed last year.

Pollution Rally Set for Sunday in Redondo Beach
A mass rally organized by the Redondo Bay Home and Boat Owners Association will gather between 500 and 1,000 residents and boat owners at 4 p.m. Sunday in Redondo Beach City Park to protest alleged fallout from the Southern California Edison Co. plant at Redondo Street and Harbor Drive. Association chairman Lee Vollmer says ash and sulfur fallout has affected 1,500 homes and 1,000 boats, caused by fuel air in paw regenerating operations during natural gas shortages. A petition to the Federal Power Commission and a preliminary investigation update will be presented after formal written complaints are submitted.
