Market Drops Sharply as Auto and Steel Sell-off Spreads

The stock market posted its steepest drop in two weeks with autos and steels leading a broad decline. The AP average fell to 621.37, the Dow slipped 5.50 to 6217, and 295 issues rose while 704 fell. Volume reached 3.11 million shares with Universal 617 Products among the most active.
