May Raise Cities Fees for Sheriffs
L. S. Hollinger the county chief administrative officer will ask the Board of Supervisors on Tuesday to approve about a 1 percent increase in sheriff patrol service charges to contract cities. The raise would push the per car cost for 1969 70 to about 140 000 for Lakewood Bellflower Norwalk and Carson, raising city payments by roughly 20 000 next year. The change follows County Grand Jury cost formulas and reflects higher salary and benefit costs for the sheriff office.
