Liner Maipu Sinks After Collision With US Warship
Bremerhaven Germany Nov 4 The Argentine luxury liner Maipu collided with the US troopship Gen M L Hersey in dense fog off the North Sea. All 2800 aboard were not lost with 238 passengers and crew saved and picked up by the Hersey. The Maipu sank after taking a long gash in her side. Some aboard the Maipu suffered slight injuries.

LAS VEGAS Nov 4 UP another atomic explosion likely at the Nevada test site tomorrow morning after a three day lull following last Thursday’s atomic maneuvers.
