Reds Battle To Stem New Communist Defense Line
In Tokyo on May 31 Allied units slogged through mud to pressure Red Korea lines around the Iron Triangle. 12 Die in California Traffic Accidents
Three separate traffic fatalities are reported across California. C. H. Eckles, 59, died crossing the Pacific Coast Highway near Laguna Beach after being struck by a car driven by Perch A. Vrooman, 49, of San Diego. Charles William Harris, 17, a sailor from Cottonwood, was killed by a hit and run driver on Highway 99E about 22 miles south of Red Bluff while hitchhiking to rejoin his ship the U S S Chara.
