Woman testifies child Kay Frances alive when carried out
Kay Frances Erickson was alive at 6 30 a m when firemen wheeled her out of the studio apartment, Violet Berling said yesterday. Miss Berling, 33, accused of murder, was asked if Kay Frances lived then and replied Yes sir. The State says the child died at 1 30 a m five hours earlier. Berling testified she and Kay Frances ate hot dogs and other food sent by Miguel Verdugo, the fiancé, who noted the time was 10 30 the night before the death.

Armed Robber Takes $11 in Motel Holdup
A bandit robbed the Motor Rame Motel at 1200 Pacific Coast Hwy Seal Beach of 11 dollars last night. Police report the suspect was armed with a 43 caliber revolver and fled the scene.
