Stephens a 64 year old hotel resident at 427 E Broad way was hospitalized at Seaside with foot and head injuries after a City Lines bus struck him at the First St and American Ave intersection. The driver Walter Lee Carpenter 40 of 1941 Canal Ave said he was traveling south on American Ave and turned west onto First St when the accident occurred.
