Eisenhower Gains Leaning of Arizona Delegate in Taft Fight
Denver June 18—General Eisenhower talked with five of Arizona's 14 Republican delegates and appeared to win the support of one uncommitted delegate, Dr John Stilley of Flagstaff, who now leans toward the general. Prescott minister Parker also said he had a fine impression but remains uncommitted. Arizona’s delegation previously stood 19 for Taft, two for Eisenhower, and two uncommitted. Ward of Phoenix backed Taft but found some points unclear. Ward criticized the Texas GOP dispute and Taft’s potential delegate entitlement.
