Three F-84 Pilots Die In Cross-Country Air Flight

Eight Thunderjets, part of a distant cross-country flight, crashed near Richmond Indiana. Three pilots were killed and a survivor, Captain Bryce Long, said his engine exploded after clearing a thunderstorm. Two pilots bailed out with injuries. guards enforced silence.

Pair Booked for Burglary After High Speed Chase

Alexander Freeman 24 and Mrs Mickey Cleveland 26, both Los Angeles residents, were arrested after a roaring chase through the Bixby Knolls area. They allegedly burglarized markets including a till raid at 4282 Anahiem Street, escaping in a car that crashed near Claiborne Way and Lime Avenue. Police recovered 160 dollars hidden in Freeman’s armpit. Freeman and Cleveland were booked for burglary investigation. Freeman to city jail, Cleveland treated for head injuries.

In Wichita Kansas crowds estimated at 70 000 cheered Jimmy Jabara the world s first jet ace during a celebratory home town parade. The event highlighted his wartime air achievements and local pride in the aviation hero.

Three Die As B-25 Crashes Near Reese AFB Texas

A B-25 from Reese Air Force Base crashed ten miles southwest of Lubbock Texas shortly after takeoff killing all three crewmen. Identified victims include pilot 1st Lt Stephen C Frost 31 of Emmett Kansas, co-pilot 1st Lt LeRoy Adams 35 of Kansas Missouri, and 1st Lt E D Jentzen of Hammon Oklahoma.

Car plunges from bridge into tracks injures man

James Adams, Sr. escaped with minor chin lacerations and leg bruises after his car struck a wooden railing on the bridge at California Avenue and Hill Street, plunging 30 feet to the Pacific Electric tracks below. He was at 1336 Cowles Street at the time of the accident early this morning.

Two Teens and Sailor Injured in Cedar Avenue Crash

Two teenage girls June Williams nineteen Velma McKay seventeen and sailor Clarence Clark twenty three were injured in a two car collision at Cedar Avenue and Fifth Street. Clark suffered extensive injury to the left forearm and the trio were taken to Seaside Hospital by Fire Department ambulance. Clark is listed as aboard the USS Cimarron.
