Reds recapture two hills in furious attack

In a 10 hour clash near Yanggu and Inje in Korea, two hills north northwest of Yanggu were recaptured by Reds after a furious counterattack against United Nations forces. Allied units initially seized the hills but withdrew under heavy machinegun, mortar, and artillery fire. Other UN forces north of Inje faced moderate resistance from a Red battalion.

Deaf Lad Saves Life At Groveland Pond

A 13 year old deaf boy Cary Robson read lips of frightened youths at New Mill pond and saved 10 year old Joseph De Coito from six feet of water. Cary pulled him from the bottom and revived him after two drivers failed. The Northampton School for the Deaf student acted quickly to rescue the drowning lad.
