Massed Communists gird Taegu drive in Korea
In east central Korea about 39 000 Communist troops massed for a push toward Taegu while thousands more moved to the front further west for a broader offensive. Allied patrols skirmished across western and central fronts as 1000 Communists fell in one five mile central sector. Taegu, a key UN communications hub, lies under 60 miles from Pusan.
