Man Shoots Two At South Gate
Loraine Johnson, 37, of 9809 Hildreth Ave shot his son Gary Lee Johnson 17 and his sister-in-law Violet Lee Burgess 18 at the home of his estranged wife Eva Fae Johnson 98254 San Vincente St around 7 PM Sunday. Johnson surrendered at the police station shortly after. Both victims were hospitalized in Los Angeles General Hospital in serious but not critical condition with chest and arm wounds. The incident followed divorce-related accusations and ongoing family disputes.

Steam Shovel Digs Bodies From Wreck Site
Remains of seven victims were recovered Sunday from a 15 foot pit after a Flying Tiger Line cargo plane crashed and burned last Wednesday near Seattle.
