Bellflower resident Mrs. Hamscom, an 83 year old blind woman living alone at 17046 Rush St, reported a weekend burglary. A thief entered her home, left nearby items, stole 84 dollars in rings and 400 pennies, and disturbed her dresser while neighbors aided the victim after alarms of intrusion.
Prague Feb 25 Communist President Klement Gottwald denounced Vladimir Clementis as a spy and traitor and signaled a major party purge. Clementis, once foreign minister, is believed arrested after disappearing January 29 amid rumors he fled west. The speech accused Clementis of conspiracy to seize power and align with imperialism as state moves toward action.
Oscar Collazo, a 31 year old Puerto Rican, heads to trial Monday for his part in the attempt to assassinate President Truman. The government will seek the death penalty in the electric chair.
Chinese and North Korean forces suffer thousands of casualties as Lt. Gen. Almond reports halting a eastern flank advance in central Korea. Operation Killer widens a colossal pincers above Chechen and disrupts a 60,000-man North Korean force in East Central Korea.
In East Los Angeles on February 25 a 17 year old was stabbed to death and three other youths were critically hurt in a gang clash. Teddy Sandoval died at General Hospital while Frank Hernandez 18 Gilbert Loya 18 and Silvario Rivas 17 remained in critical condition with stab wounds.

A brunette since, they plan a Chicago honeymoon and rehearsals for a new act "Lila Leeds and her musical escorts." The couple will legally adopt their baby, whose paternity Leeds has never disclosed.
