Mothers' polio march in California tops $35,000 goal
Last night 4000 women conducted a three hour polio fund drive from house to house in Los Angeles. The march began at 6 pm and many stayed until 10 pm or later. Early returns indicated the $35,000 target would be exceeded when all money is counted.
Doyle to Stand Trial With 14 Communist Defendants
Federal Judge William C. Mathes ruled Mary Bernadette Doyle, 45, a frequent Communist party candidate, fit to stand trial with 14 other defendants in a federal case set to proceed tomorrow as a second string group faces court.
