Morrison's PTA executive board approved events including a rag drive January 7 to 11 with room prizes, a cotton and jean dance January 26, and a teachers' luncheon January 22. Jennie DeStephano was named welfare chairman replacing Violet Hughes. The group approved a budget, planned The Morrison Messenger, and aided needy families with seven baskets and trees funded by a Hab breakfast proceeds. A crossing guard was secured at Hoback Street and Pioneer Boulevard for student safety. The January 3 unit meeting was postponed to January 17 at 7:30 p.m.
Mrs Clarice Mins ker and son dohney visit her parents and sister in Stan ford Calif. Mr John Minsker serves with the Air Force in Japan. Nearby, Mr and Mrs Lyle Klinger host Vernon and Sumiea with guests Dan Hanley and family from Montebello. Other gatherings include the Hogans and relatives in Compton and Los Angeles for Christmas Eve and a church nominating committee meeting at Rev. Wesley Bakers home with guests Dr Clyde Roberts of San Angelo Texas and the Bakers.
Paramount New officers of the Clearwater Presbyterian Church will be installed Sunday at 9:31 a.m. during regular services. Named elders are Fred Minium Henry Lass and Robert Lewis deacons are Mrs. Ray Flicker Mrs. Minium William Hendon and Mrs. Ed Thormodson and trustees are Mrs. Florence Dunham A. F. Cathcart and Claude Jones Sr.
In Bellflower, deputies left holiday greeting cards in cars instead of tagging for overtime parking. A recipient mailed back the card with a rhyming note confessing she forgot to drop the penny and wishing better in 1952. The poem ends with a lighthearted pledge to improve.
Norwalk group hosts birthday surprise for Bud Zimmerman husband of Eleanor, with dinner at Knott's Berry Farm, Ghost Town tour, and cake. Same circle later surprise celebrates Eleanor. both birthdays fall a day apart. Notes on holiday gift exchanges, hospital visit, and Christmas gifts linger in reflection.
Ann Kosarko of 6029 Sandwood reports to deputies a thief stole 26 large light bulbs from the decorations in front of her home in Park Lakewood Park. The theft occurred on Christmas Day.

Families including Bart Petersen, Kendall Petersen, Ruth Brady, Carle Williams, Vern Williams, Mary Williams, Mr. and Mrs. Schrabel, and Lt. George Schnabel gather across San Marino, North Hollywood, Lakewood Village, Artesia, Bellflower, Akron, and surrounding areas. Relatives from Long Beach, San Luis Obispo, Norwalk, Baldwin Park, Alhambra, Pasadena and Santa Ana share meals at multiple homes, ending with a large family table at the Olla Kram residence.
Fred C. Sherwood, 78, of 20822 Alice Street Artesia, died at home Wednesday evening of a heart attack. County Fire Department rescue teams attempted to revive him but were unsuccessful.
Bellflower Garden Department of the Worman's Club hosts a dessert luncheon at the clubhouse on Wednesday noon with a round table discussion on garden topics. Hostesses are Mines, Ralph E. Boggs, J. C. Clark and Fred Hines. members to bring plant sale contributions.
