Evacuate 1000 Orphans From Seoul to Island

More than 1000 ailing orphans and attendants were flown from Seoul to an island off South Korea. The mass evacuation occurred on 24 hours notice through Fifth Air Force chaplain Lt. K. L. Blaisdell. The children, mostly too ill or small to walk, traveled in 16 C-54 transports from Kimpo Air Field to Inchon and onto awaiting vessels.

Hoover Urges Air Sea Power Against Korea Risk
