In Jalapa Mexico on August 27 Francisco Malpica aged 98 killed himself fearing he otherwise might live forever. He chose death to avoid prolonged illness and aging.

Youth, 15, Held As L B Acrobat Store Burglar

A 15-year-old acrobat in Long Beach admitted burglaries at J C Penney and Nu Pike concessions after stealing a car and escaping Santa Cruz Juvenile Hall. He described climbing a high wire to flee with loot and said he committed at least five burglaries in three weeks. Officers R H Davis and George Marshall observed his remorse as he waited at the Juvenile Bureau.
